M18 Ultrasonic Proximity Switch, Analog Output, 0-10V/4-20mA

An ultrasonic proximity sensor with 0–10V or 4–20mA analog output is used for non-contact distance measurement and object detection. It emits ultrasonic waves and measures the echo time to determine the distance of an object. The analog output provides a continuous, proportional signal that can be used for level monitoring, positioning, presence detection, and automation control in industrial environments.

Both outputs offer smooth and precise distance feedback. 0–10V output is ideal for short cable runs and systems requiring fast voltage-based signal processing. 4–20mA output is preferred for long-distance wiring because it is immune to electrical noise and signal loss. These options allow the sensor to integrate easily with PLCs, controllers, and monitoring systems.

Ultrasonic sensors are suitable for detecting objects regardless of color, transparency, or surface texture, making them ideal for applications where optical sensors fail. They perform reliably in environments with dust, humidity, or low visibility, and are commonly used in liquid level measurement, material handling, packaging equipment, and industrial automation.
