Overview

SUCH M18 proximity sensor is a capacitive industrial proximity sensor, which can detect both metal and non-metallic materials (including plastics, liquids and powder media). This small proximity switch comes with shielded or unshielded type installation, AC type or DC type output methods,  detection distance of 10mm, a wide temperature operating range of -30~65℃ (non-freezing or condensation) and good anti-interference performance.

Feature

  • The capacitive proximity sensor provides a 10mm sensing distance and uses an intelligent sensing chip for fast response, strong anti-interference performance, and accurate NO/NC metal detection.
  • It features a durable nickel-plated brass M18 threaded housing with good anti-interference capability and long service life.
  • SUCH proximity switch is equipped with an LED indicator that turns on in the normally-open mode and stays off in the normally-closed mode when detecting metal objects.

FAQ

Proximity sensors are widely used to detect the stop, start, and moving positions of elevators and lifting equipment. They help determine vehicle positions to prevent collisions, set working machine positions, and identify the limiting positions of removable parts. They also detect rotational stop positions, valve opening and closing positions, and the movement of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder pistons.

They assist in size control for metal plate punching and shearing, automatic identification of metal piece length, and stacking height control. They detect the presence of packaging boxes or product parts on production lines. They regulate conveyor or rotating machinery speed using pulse signals and count items such as products on the production line or revolutions of high-speed shafts and disks.

Proximity sensors can detect abnormalities such as bottle cap presence, product quality differences, metal vs. non-metal parts, product labels, crane danger zones, and escalator start-stop conditions. They also support metrological control, including automatic measuring of products, monitoring meter ranges and flow, detecting buoys for level control, and managing upper/lower limit measurements. Additionally, they identify coded objects and enable information transmission for sensors connected to ASI bus systems over distances of 50–100 meters.
