Ultrasonic label sensor delivers high-speed, precise label detection with a slot width of 5mm and slot depth of 68mm, capable of detecting label gaps ≥2mm. The label sensor features NPN+PNP output types, easily identifying single-sheet, double-sheet, and no-label conditions. Green light indicates single sheet, red light indicates double sheet, and yellow light indicates air gap. Built-in reverse polarity protection circuit supports wide voltage input (10-30VDC).
Power-on Status: Air indicator yellow, single sheet green, double sheet red.
An ultrasonic label sensor detects the thickness difference between the label and its backing paper by emitting and receiving high-frequency ultrasonic waves, thereby determining whether a label is present. Unlike photoelectric sensors, it does not rely on color, transparency, or printed features, making it effective for detecting transparent, irregularly shaped, or metallized labels. This principle ensures stable and reliable detection even on high-speed labeling machines and with diverse materials, preventing misjudgments caused by varying label substrates.
Ultrasonic label sensors work with paper, transparent, translucent, and foil labels. They distinguish single sheets from doubles and maintain stable operation even with highly reflective or dark labels. Since it relies on ultrasonic thickness detection rather than color or optical reflection, it remains virtually unaffected by label surface printing, color variations, or transparency. This makes it particularly suitable for high-speed, precision labeling production lines in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical packaging.
The slot-type ultrasonic sensor identifies labels and carrier materials based on printing patterns, transparency, and surface roughness, distinguishing between single-layer and double-layer materials. Examples include transparent labels on transparent carrier materials and labels with different printed patterns. The ultrasonic label sensor can detect labels with a minimum spacing of 2mm, offering high positioning accuracy, fast response time, and compact size.
