    Overview

This photoelectric label gap sensor utilizes infrared detection (940nm) with a 3mm slot width and 60mm slot depth design, achieving a minimum label spacing of ≥2mm. Operating within a 12-24V DC voltage range, it ensures precise label positioning. The label sensor features NPN/PNP outputs and is equipped with red, green, and blue indicator lights for real-time status and error calibration alerts. Installation is flexible, supporting either a 2m cable or a 25cm M8 plug connection.

    Label Gap Sensor Calibration Setup

Normally Open Mode (Green LED constantly lit)

    • Move one or more labels away from the substrate and advance the blank area into the sensor.
    • When the blank area advances to the detection center, the blue output LED turns on.
    • When a label advances to the detection center, the blue output LED turns off.
    • If set correctly, the LED will flash normally between the label and the gap.
      Operation complete.

Normally Closed Mode (Green LED Off)

    • Remove one or more labels from the backing material and advance the blank area into the sensor.
    • When the blank area advances past the detection center, the blue output LED turns off.
    • When the label advances past the detection center, the blue output LED turns on.
    • If set correctly, the LED will blink normally between the label and gap. Operation complete.

Primarily observe the blue output LED and switch output for display.

    Indicator Type Color Description
Error Indicator Red If there is no operation error, the red light does not turn on. If the set upper limit is reached or the last calibration is improperly calibrated, the red light turns on.
NO NC Indicator Green When the sensor is in operation, the green light is always on.
Output Indicator Blue Displays switch output signal. If a label gap is detected, the LED turns on.

    FAQ

Outputting a switch signal at the label gap/outputting a switch signal at the label position—this standard function is typically used during sensor operation. This photoelectric label gap sensor can detect labels and their gaps with high speed and accuracy. The primary indicators are the blue output indicator light and the switch output display.

    • Before powering on, ensure the power supply voltage is within the rated range. The label sensor begins normal detection 100 milliseconds after power-up.
    • When the sensor and load are powered by separate power supplies, ensure the sensor power is turned on first.
    • When deactivating the label gap sensor, it is recommended to first disconnect the load power supply before turning off the sensor power.
    • Avoid applying excessive external force (e.g., hammering) during installation to prevent performance degradation.
    • Do not use thinners, alcohol, or other organic solvents for cleaning.
    1. Do not use in environments containing flammable, explosive, or corrosive gases.
    2. Do not use in environments containing oil or chemicals.
    3. Do not use in environments with high humidity.
    4. Do not use in environments exposed to direct sunlight.
    5. Do not use in other environmental conditions exceeding the rated values.
    6. Do not disassemble, repair, or modify this label gap sensor without authorization.
