Overview

Optical tipping bucket rain sensor adopts high-precision optical detection technology and is equipped with a 6cm sensing diameter. SUCH rain sensor can accurately measure rainfall of 0.1mm and has a maximum instantaneous rainfall of 24mm/min. It is suitable for monitoring rainfall weather. Supports 9-30V wide voltage power supply, with power consumption below 0.24W, energy-saving and efficient. Adopting RS485 output interface, 1Lux low light sensitivity ensures stable operation around the clock. Widely used in meteorological stations, smart agriculture, and geological hazard monitoring.

Installation and Commissioning

The rain sensor needs to be installed in an open area, with no obstructions around or above it. Install the device onto the bracket in the accessories first, and fix the device and bracket with 4 M4 * 35 304 stainless steel screws and nuts. Then install the bracket to the position to be installed (the position to be installed requires a circular hole of Φ 5), and the bracket should be placed horizontally for installation. Finally, fix the bracket and equipment with three M4 * 10 304 stainless steel screws and nuts.

If the bracket is not used, the customer can install it according to their own installation method based on the position and size of the copper bolts in the following diagram.

The funnel anti blocking design can reduce the accumulation of fallen leaves. It is recommended to clean the tipping bucket with a soft brush every quarter to avoid hard objects scratching the optical components.
