Overview

Tipping bucket rain gauge sensor is made of ABS plastics, has good weather resistance and corrosion resistance, supports pulse, RS485 or analog output, and can choose 0.2mm or 0.5mm resolution, which is suitable for a variety of meteorological monitoring systems. SUCH rain gauge sensor has a caliber of 200mm, and the measurement error does not exceed ±0.32mm (under 4mm/min simulated rainfall conditions). It can measure rainfall intensity of 0~4mm/min and can withstand a maximum rainfall of 8mm/min. It is suitable for a variety of application scenarios such as meteorology, hydrology, and agriculture.

Feature

  • ABS Tipping Bucket: Equipped with a precision support system, featuring low friction torque. The bucket flips responsively, ensuring stable performance and reliable operation.
  • Self-washing Dust: Streamlined 3D flow guide cover with a downward-curved tip enhances water drainage. The design is aesthetically pleasing and allows for easy maintenance.
  • Anti-Clogging Structure: Built-in black pagoda-shaped filter effectively prevents leaves and debris from blocking the rain sensor inlet.
  • Accurate and Stable Signal: Equipped with a permanent magnet, and the reed switch is precisely positioned to ensure a consistent coupling distance.

Installation

Indoor Installation: Take out the pearl cotton block at the bottom of the rain sensor and then install the supporting block to the bottom of the instrument.

Outdoor Installation: In the cement foundation to play 3 Ф10 depth of 8~10cm mounting holes, will be placed in the installation of expansion bolts in the mounting holes, with the lock nut locking, and then the rain sensor base installed in the 3 height support nut, by adjusting the height of the support nut and use a level ruler to measure the ring whether the mouth is at the level of the state, and finally with the top of the locking will be fixed instrument.

FAQ

If you notice significant discrepancies between the measured rainfall and actual conditions, it is recommended to perform a manual simulated rainfall test. Based on the test results, you can make fine adjustments as needed.

Yes, the sensor is equipped with an internal black pagoda-shaped filter that effectively prevents debris such as leaves and dust from clogging the inlet. However, to ensure long-term measurement accuracy, it is recommended to inspect and clean the sensor every 1–3 months, especially during leaf-fall seasons or in dusty environments.

The tipping mechanism uses a permanent magnet and reed switch system. Both components are precisely aligned during manufacturing. The measurement error is controlled within ±0.32 mm.
