    Overview

SUCH optical rain sensor uses the infrared light sensing principle and can measure rainfall with high precision. The standard resolution is 0.1mm and the maximum instantaneous rainfall can reach 24mm/min. It supports Pulse or RS485 interface. The power supply voltage range of RS485 output is 9~30V DC, and the power supply voltage of Pulse interface is 10~30V DC. It has an operating temperature range of -40℃ to 60℃, fast response and high stability, and is particularly suitable for meteorological monitoring, smart agriculture, hydrological monitoring and other scenarios.

    Feature

    • Small and Light: Easily lifted with one hand, easy to carry and does not take up space.
    • Optical Sensing Measurement Principle: Uses optical sensing principle to measure rainfall, and uses infrared light as the measurement medium, with high measurement accuracy.
    • High-precision Optical Probe: Four high-precision optical probes are built in, and the measurement results are accurate and sensitive.
    • Automatic Interference Filtering: Uses a reliable filtering algorithm to effectively avoid interference from external light, fog, etc. on the detection of rainfall sensors.
    • Intelligent and Easy to Maintain: Easy to maintain design, not easy to be blocked by fallen leaves, and falling dust will not affect the accuracy of measurement

    Installation and Commissioning

    Optical rain sensor installation

① Firstly, you need to install the rain sensor in an open place, there should not be any obstruction around and above to cover it.

② Mount the optical rain sensor to the bracket in the accessory first, and fix the device and bracket with 4 M4*35 304 stainless steel screws and nuts.

③ Then install the bracket to the position to be installed (a Φ5 round hole needs to be opened at the location to be installed), bracket to be installed horizontally, and finally through three M4*10 304 stainless steel screws and nuts to fix the bracket and rainll sensor.

④ If the bracket is not used, the user can install according to the position and size of the copper studs according to their own installation method.

    FAQ

The optical rain gauge uses an infrared beam as a measuring medium, and determines the rainfall intensity and accumulated rainfall by detecting the refraction or occlusion changes caused by raindrops passing through the beam.

The sensor supports an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +60℃, and is suitable for a variety of harsh environments, such as high-cold mountainous areas, tropical humid areas, etc.

Compared with traditional mechanical rain sensors such as tipping buckets, optical rain gauges have no moving parts, are not affected by mechanical wear, have faster response speed, more sensitive measurement, and higher long-term stability. In addition, it is easy to carry, small in size, and easy to move.
