Ultrasonic liquid flow sensors designed specifically for micro-flow rates and small-diameter pipes are for sale. With an external clamp-on installation structure, the flow sensor measures 0~3000 mL/min. Compact and lightweight, it is optimized for Ø6.35mm (1/4 inch) and similar small-diameter pipes. The ultrasonic flow sensor supports RS485 and 4-20mA, NPN NO output optional, it handles various media including water, oil, and pharmaceutical solutions, covering diverse applications from laboratories to industrial sites.
Measurement is based on the principle of ultrasonic transit time difference: in a stationary state, the ultrasonic propagation time upstream and downstream is identical. When liquid flows, the ultrasonic propagation speed increases in the downstream direction and decreases in the upstream direction, creating a difference in propagation time between upstream and downstream. By precisely measuring this time difference, the real-time flow rate can be calculated.
