Overview

High-performance capacitive oil tank level sensor provides multiple signal outputs and a wide power supply range for liquid level measurement. This capacitance type level switch uses a coaxial electrode design where capacitance changes as liquid enters the sensor, allowing accurate measurement of conductive liquids. It has IP65 protection and operates in temperatures from -20 to +85℃, making it suitable for oil tanks and similar applications.

Feature

  • Capacitive oil tank level sensor can be field-trimmed to fit the tank height.
  • This capacitance type level sensor is easy to install and commission, allowing on-site zero and full-scale calibration.
  • Sensor output curve is optimized, simplifying signal acquisition and processing.
  • Level transmitter features strong anti-interference capability and reverse polarity protection.
  • Multiple signal output options available: current, voltage, MODBUS (RS485/RS232).

FAQ

Yes, as long as corrosion-resistant materials are selected. For example, for strong acid and alkali liquids, PTFE sheaths, PVDF probes, or fully enclosed designs can be used to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact with corrosive liquids. Also, ensure that the cables and seals are made of chemically resistant materials. If the dielectric constant is low, calibration can improve the measurement sensitivity.

The main installation methods include top mounting, side wall mounting, threaded connection, flange connection, and bracket fixing. Top mounting is the most common to avoid media impact. Side mounting is suitable for horizontal liquid level detection. During installation, ensure the probe does not contact the container wall to avoid capacitive interference and maintain good grounding.

Compared to technologies like ultrasonic level sensors, capacitive level sensors are less sensitive to temperature, steam, and foam, but can be affected by electromagnetic interference, container wall contact, and sediment. Interference can be reduced through proper grounding, cable shielding, and probe isolation. Modern sensors often incorporate anti-interference circuitry to improve stability.
