    Overview

A SUCH non-contact capacitive level sensor is a liquid detection device that mounts outside a non-metallic pipe and senses level changes without touching the fluid. This sensor provides fast 1ms response, adjustable sensitivity, NPN+PNP output, and IP66 protection for reliable pipe liquid monitoring. It is suitable for plastic, PVC, glass, ceramic, acrylic, rubber, and PE pipes used in water treatment, chemical feed lines, and industrial automation.

    Feature

    • Non-contact capacitive sensing principle: The capacitive level sensor detects liquid by sensing capacitance variations through the pipe wall, enabling precise level detection without direct contact with the fluid and eliminating contamination risks.
    • NPN and PNP output compatibility: Designed for flexible system integration, the capacitive water level sensor supports both NPN and PNP output modes, making it compatible with a wide range of PLCs and industrial control systems.
    • High accuracy and anti-interference performance: With high detection accuracy, stable operation, and strong resistance to electrical interference, the sensor ensures fast and reliable liquid level response.
    • Durable IP66-rated housing: Housed in rugged ABS plastic with an IP66 protection rating, the capacitive fluid level sensor offers excellent resistance to dust ingress and powerful water jets, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.
    • Simple external installation and precise adjustment: The capacitive liquid level sensor mounts easily on the outside of non-metallic pipes and features a multi-turn potentiometer along with a clear digital display, allowing accurate sensitivity tuning and threshold adjustment.

    FAQ

A non-contact capacitive liquid level sensor for pipes is a sensor installed on the outer wall of a pipe that detects the presence or level changes of liquid inside the pipe without direct contact with the medium. It is based on the principle of capacitance change; when liquid flows in the pipe or the liquid level changes, the dielectric constant inside and outside the pipe wall changes. The sensor detects this minute change in capacitance to determine the liquid state. Because the sensor does not contact the medium, it is ideal for liquid detection applications in pipes with high hygiene requirements, corrosive substances, or high-pressure sealed systems.

Yes, it does to some extent. Non-contact capacitive liquid level sensors are generally suitable for non-metallic pipes, such as plastic pipes, PVC pipes, PP pipes, PE pipes, glass pipes, or composite material pipes. Metal pipes shield the electric field, preventing the sensor from functioning properly, so they are not suitable for direct installation on metal pipes. For pipes with thicker walls or multi-layer structures, the detection distance and sensitivity may also be affected, and the pipe material and wall thickness parameters should be confirmed during selection.

Generally, no. Non-contact capacitive liquid level sensors use an external mounting or clamping method, which can be directly fixed to the outer wall of the pipe without drilling holes, cutting pipes, or shutting down the system, greatly reducing installation difficulty and maintenance costs. This feature makes it ideal for retrofit projects or applications requiring continuous production. However, during installation, ensure that the sensor is tightly attached to the pipe wall to avoid air gaps affecting detection accuracy.

Rock steady non contact capacitive level sensor, solved our small tube calibration pains
Got this non contact capacitive level sensor to track chemical feed lines on our test setup. Clamped it right onto a 10mm clear PVC pipe. Digital sensitivity dial on the back makes it super easy to adjust. Took a minute to dial in the threshold so it ignores bubbles, but now it triggers perfectly every time fluid passes. No drift at all.
