Dimension (unit: mm)

Thermal dispersion flow switch dimension

In the above dimensional drawing, the length of Y is determined by the power supply method, with two options available:

  • 24VDC power supply: Y length is 45mm
  • 85~265VAC power supply: Y length is 60mm

The length of L is determined by the sensor length you select, with five options available (i.e., 15mm, 20mm, 30mm, 45mm, 60mm).

FAQ

A thermal dispersion flow switch detects changes in heat dissipation from a heating element to determine the presence of fluid flow. It typically contains a heating probe and a temperature sensor. When the medium is stationary, the probe maintains a high temperature. As fluid flows past the probe, it carries away heat, causing the temperature to drop. The control circuit assesses flow status based on temperature differential changes and outputs a switching signal.

Thermal dispersion flow switches are suitable for fluid media such as water, oils, and certain gases, especially clean liquid or gas systems. Their lack of moving parts provides strong vibration resistance, making them suitable for industrial cooling systems, lubrication systems, compressed air pipelines, and automated equipment. When selecting a model, confirm the medium's thermal conductivity, temperature range, and pressure rating. Avoid prolonged operation in highly corrosive or heavily contaminated environments to ensure measurement stability and service life.

During installation, ensure the probe is fully inserted into the pipe interior and avoid proximity to elbows, valves, or fluid turbulence zones to guarantee detection accuracy. It is generally recommended to reserve a certain length of straight pipe section to minimize flow field interference. For maintenance, regularly inspect the probe surface for scale or impurity buildup, as deposits may impair heat dissipation and reduce sensitivity. Proper installation and periodic cleaning effectively extend equipment lifespan while maintaining detection precision.
