This compact ultrasonic object detection sensor operates on 3.3–12 V DC with UART, PWM, RS485, I²C, and digital/switching outputs. It offers a 2–300 cm range for flat objects, ≤2 cm blind zone, temperature-compensated accuracy of 1+(S*0.3%) cm, 30–60° beam angle, ≤9–10 mA current, ≤5 µA standby, and ≤1000 ms power-on time. Ideal for non-contact presence, distance, and object detection in industrial automation.
Note
A: This ultrasonic object detection sensor automatically enters a low‑power dormant state if no control command is received for more than 5 seconds. In this sleep state, the standby current drops to ≤5 µA for UART Controlled and PWM Pulse Width modes. However, note that UART Auto, Digital/Switching, RS485, and I²C modes do not support this ultra‑low standby state, as they either run autonomously or require higher idle current. This makes UART Controlled and PWM the best choices for battery‑powered robot designs.
A: The output response time of this ultrasonic object detection sensor depends on both the output mode and the actual distance to the target. According to the test notes, the shorter the distance, the faster the response (tested in the 0.5 to 3 m range). For example:
PWM Pulse Width: < 15 ms; UART Auto / UART Controlled / I²C: 8 to 140 ms; RS485: 15 to 750 ms; Digital/Switching: 300 to 1500 ms
Choose a faster mode if your object detection sensor needs to feed data into a high‑speed robot control loop.
A: The accuracy of this ultrasonic object detection sensor is defined as 1 + (S × 0.3%) cm, where S is the measured distance. For example, at 300 cm, the deviation is about 1 + 0.9 = 1.9 cm. The reference tests were conducted under 25°C, 65% RH, 12V supply, and a 100 ms working cycle, using a 50 × 60 cm flat carton as the target, ensuring consistent and reproducible measurement data.
