How to Ues

Soil electrical conductivity sensor how to use
Surface Method
  • Insert the entire probe into the soil during use

  • Avoid rocks

Burial Method
  • Dig a vertical soil profile with a depth slightly greater than the depth of the sensor’s lowest layer, with a diameter between 20 cm and 50 cm. Insert the sensor horizontally into the soil profile as shown in the diagram. The installation depth should follow the requirements of the soil moisture monitoring standard. After the sensor is installed, backfill the excavated soil.

FAQ

A Soil Electrical Conductivity (EC) Sensor is used to measure the salinity or ion concentration in soil. It helps monitor soil fertility, irrigation water quality, and environmental conditions, making it essential in agriculture, greenhouse cultivation, and soil research.

Yes, thanks to its IP68 waterproof sealing, the sensor can be buried for long-term soil monitoring in fields, greenhouses, or pots.

Monitoring soil EC helps farmers optimize fertilizer use, prevent over-irrigation, and improve crop yield and quality by maintaining proper soil salinity balance.
