Albedo radiation sensor is designed for precise shortwave reflectance measurement, complying with ISO 9060 and WMO standards for professional environmental and meteorological applications. It delivers high-sensitivity detection within the 0.285–3 μm band, ensuring accurate albedo and solar radiation analysis. Built with robust IP67 protection, RS485 signal output, and a wide operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C, the sensor offers stable, reliable performance in harsh outdoor environments.
Albedo refers to the reflectivity of a surface, expressed as the ratio of reflected solar radiation to the incoming solar radiation. It indicates how much sunlight a surface reflects rather than absorbs.
It measures upward (reflected) shortwave radiation and compares it with downward (incoming) shortwave radiation, allowing accurate calculation of surface albedo.
A standard pyranometer measures only incoming shortwave radiation. An albedo sensor uses two matched detectors (one upward-facing and one downward-facing) to measure both incoming and reflected radiation for accurate reflectance calculation.
