Diffuse solar radiation sensor is designed for precise measurement of solar irradiance across the 0.3-3μm spectral range. Featuring a highly sensitive 7-14 μV·W⁻¹·m² thermopile element and a 95% light-transmittance quartz cover, SUCH radiation sensor delivers fast, stable, and accurate response to solar radiation. Its IP67-rated full-aluminum housing ensures durability against rain, snow, oxidation, and harsh outdoor environments, while the Φ400 ring band structure enhances diffuse radiation capture for reliable long-term performance in meteorological, photovoltaic, and environmental monitoring applications.
Diffuse radiation refers to sunlight that has been scattered by molecules, clouds, aerosols, or dust in the atmosphere. It does not come directly from the sun but arrives from all directions.
It measures only the scattered component of solar irradiance, excluding direct beam radiation. This allows accurate monitoring of the diffuse portion of total solar energy.
Diffuse sensors typically use a shading ring, shading band, or geometric structure designed to prevent direct solar beams from reaching the sensing surface while allowing scattered light from all angles.
