    Overview

The SUCH microwave presence sensor is a 5.8GHz Doppler-based ceiling mount sensor designed for automatic light control in commercial and residential spaces. It detects human movement within a 4–16 m range through a flat directional antenna, then triggers a built-in 16A relay to switch connected lighting or electrical loads on and off. With adjustable detection distance, delay time, and light-sensing threshold, the sensor suits corridors, stairwells, offices, warehouses, and other areas where energy-efficient, hands-free lighting control is required.

    Feature

    • 5.8GHz microwave frequency, Doppler detection principle — distinguishes moving bodies from background clutter, keeping false triggers low in busy or cluttered environments.
    •  4-level adjustable detection distance (4 m / 8 m / 12 m / 16 m) — lets installers match sensing range to room size without changing hardware.
    • 8-level adjustable delay time (10 s to 30 min) — allows the load to stay on for a set period after the area is vacated, matching different traffic patterns.
    • 8-level adjustable light threshold (5–500 Lux) — the sensor only switches lighting on when ambient light falls below the set level, avoiding unnecessary operation during daylight.
    • 2.5–5 m ceiling mount height (max. 10 m) — flat antenna design gives 360° directional coverage suitable for standard to high ceilings.
    • 16A relay output, terminals rated for 4mm² wire — supports incandescent (1600W), CFL (600W), and LED (150W) loads with secure, low-heat wiring connections.
    • AC 85–265V wide voltage input, IP20 rated — compatible with most regional power supplies for straightforward indoor installation.
    • DIP switch configuration with oxidation-resistant contacts — enables precise on-site parameter setting and long-term reliability without recalibration.

    Notes:

    • During testing, especially when the sensor is placed on a desktop with the sensing antenna facing upward, keep the tester at least 1 m away from the sensor antenna.
    • After the light turns off, wait at least 3 seconds before triggering the sensor again.
    • Avoid external interference sources during testing, such as movement behind walls, operating machinery, and low-frequency vibration, to prevent false triggering or incorrect detection.
    • Turn off the power supply before changing DIP switch settings. After completing the configuration, restore power to restart the sensor.

How to Test a Microwave Presence Sensor

    Test Setup

Install the microwave presence sensor on the ceiling at a height of 3 m above the ground, with the sensing antenna facing vertically downward.

Turn on the power supply once.

    Test Process

    1. The sensor enters the startup self-check mode. The connected light turns on at 100% brightness for approximately 15–30 seconds, then gradually decreases from 100% to 0%.
    2. The sensor enters the environment detection mode. The light remains off for approximately 15–30 seconds while the sensor detects the surrounding environment.
    3. The sensor enters normal operation mode. When human presence is detected within the sensing range (typically a radius of 5–8 m), the light turns on to 100% brightness. If movement or presence remains within the detection area, the light stays on at full brightness.
    4. After the person leaves the detection area and the 30-second delay time expires, the light automatically turns off.
    5. After an interval of more than 3 seconds, the sensor can be triggered again when a person enters the detection area.
