    A miniature optical incremental encoder is a compact position sensor that uses light and an encoder disk to generate pulses as the shaft rotates. It can provide relative position and speed feedback.

    400 PPR (pulses per revolution) means that the encoder outputs 400 electrical pulses per 360° of shaft rotation. Higher PPR values ​​provide finer motion resolution.

    Each pulse represents a rotation angle of 360° / 400 = 0.9°. Using quadrature decoding (x4 mode), the effective step size can reach 1600 counts per revolution.
